Drawing Lesson: Grid Names
Description: In this project, students make their names into an optical illusion. First, you draw out the grid with a pencil and a ruler. Then, in bubble letters, you write your name on the grid that you made. After your name is on the grid, you must choose a color pallet to choose. You have to use colors that conflict with each other. Doing this will make it look more like an optical illusion. After you have picked your colors, (I chose green and red) then you start coloring. We had to make sure that the colors do not touch each other side by side so I chose to do two different shades of green and one shade of red.
Extension Activity: For an extension activity, I would have my students and I make a wall of motivational words. Words like kind and brave would be created in the way we did grid names. This word wall would be motivation of what we want students to be in the classroom.
