Footprint Introductions

Description: My footprint represents my hobbies and interests, things that I have done, and a little bit about me! I drew the state of South Dakota as I have lived here all of my life. I am from Faulkton and our mascot is a Trojan. I drew a paintbrush with some numbers as I enjoy doing paint by numbers in my free time. I also have a love for makeup so I drew a lipstick tube with some lips. I drew a ruler, apple, and a box of crayons. I could talk about my trip to Yellowstone National Park trip from this summer for weeks so I added a few pictures to sum it up. The picture on the way left is of my mom, dad, and I. Before we headed to Yellowstone, we took a quick stop at Devils Tower. The picture at the middle top is a family picture at the geysers. The two on the right are pictures of some of the things we were able to see. There was a heard of buffalo that walked right next to our suburban so I got the picture right out the window which was really cool! Morning Glory Pool is a hot spring at the geysers. We walked two miles to see this pool and do not regret a single thing about it. It was breathtaking. Fun fact: If you put your finger in the pool, it will burn right off because of the acidity. The picture on the middle bottom is a picture of my brother and my boyfriend at a beautiful waterfall.

Extension Activity: Just like I did in my description, students could work on writing skills as an extension activity. Students would create their footprint in class and create pictures to represent important parts of their lives, hobbies, and an/or interests. After this, students would write in their notebooks or journals, explaining in full sentences, their footprint introduction. After this, students would work on speech skills and present to their peers by reading their sentences that they created.
