Elements and Principles of Design Project
One of my makeup bags shows pattern and rhythm because there are a bunch of pineapples on it that are scattered throughout the bag. It shows planned and random repetitions.
My calendar shows lines because it is suggesting movement. I cross the date out every day by using a marker or a pencil.
This canvas of two bears shows emphasis because the bears are the main focus of the painting and then the beautiful waters and hills are behind them.
This paint by number that I painted shows value because there is light and dark. It also has different shades of orange and yellow that go from dark to light to create the brightness from the sunset in the background.
This paint by number that I painted shows a bunch of different colors throughout the whole painting. The sky is different intensity of the hues and then the buildings are different shades of the cooler colors like blue, green, and purple.
An extension activity that I would do with this activity would to use speech skills in an English class and just like, we did, students would explain why they took a picture of these objects and then how they relate to the element/principle of design that they chose to connect it to. This is a good way for other students to listen and get other ideas from their piers. It is also good for students to work on speaking in front of people to gain those social skills.
