Hidden Safari Animal

Description: In this activity, we created glasses with a red tint so when you look through them, objects appear red. We then created a safari animal on a white piece of paper. We drew our safari animal with a cool tone blue colored pencil. After we drew our animal, we had to make three or more patterns over our animal with warm tone colors like red, yellow, and orange. When you look through your red glasses, since the glasses are warm toned as well, you see the cool tone blue stand out and you can see the image of your safari animal. After all of this, you write three facts about the animal that you chose on a notecard.

Extension Activity: For an extension activity, we would work on geography and learn more about each animal, where they live and what it is like where they live at.
