Van Gogh Art
Description: In class, we talked about Vincent Van Gogh and his brilliant art work that he created. He created a lot of head shots of himself and also one of his most famous Starry Night. In this painting, I was intrigued by the sky and stars. I tried to create something like that with the sky and part of the green grass. I did this by using different shades of blue for the sky so it showed some dimension. I also did this with the green. I them added different shades of blue oil pastels in the sky and the different shades of green oil pastels with the grass. My silhouette is a golf course. I have a flag, a golf cart and two orange golf balls.
Extension Activity: For an extension activity I would incorporate a geography lesson in it. We would be talking about different types of lands like grasslands, islands, and tundra's. I would have students choose one they wanted to create, research what it looks like find a few facts on it and then create their art piece. After they are done, I would have them talk about their artwork.
