Crafts Lesson: Wall Décor

 

Description: In this activity, we used popsicle sticks and yarn to make some wall décor. We created different types of patterns on our popsicle sticks with permanent makers. I went with an orange and purple theme so that is the color of my yearn and patterns. Next we made tassels by roping together four pieces of yarn to create one big tassel. We made eight tassels in all. Next we took another piece of yarn and made knots all throughout the knots and then tied it at the top so we could hang it up.

Extension Activity: As an extension activity, I would make it into a project where students have to use speech skills and talk about their wall décor. Students would have to explain why they chose the colors, why they drew the certain patters, and lastly, they would have to tell where they are going to put their wall decoration at.
