Printmaking Lesson: Representing You

Description: In this activity, I drew somethings that represent me and my life. One of the things I drew was a golf club because I love golfing. The other thing I drew was a lipstick tube for my love of makeup. We drew these objects on a piece of paper then traced them onto a piece of foam board. Once they were all traced, we colored them with markers. I chose to do one with cool colors and one with warm colors. Once we colored them with markers we took our watercolor paper, dipped it into water, and then put our foam board on top of it. We then rolled out the foam on to the watercolor paper and once we lifted it up, the maker has transferred from the foam to the watercolor paper.

Extension Activity: As an extension activity, I would make a class quilt. Once everyone is done with the activity, I would have students cut out their projects and we would put them all together into a big quilt and then hang it into our classroom.
